Van Gogh

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”
-Vincent Van Gogh

I guess this quote explains itself. No one can tell you that you cannot paint. Because you can, literally. Don’t let criticism silence you. You are the controller of your paintbrush. Pick it up and paint with what your mama gave you (heeheeharhar). When I think of Van Gogh, and this quote, I think about how his ear was gone. He could only hear half of the people criticizing him. Maybe we should cut off an ear. Or maybe both.

I kid.

I’m one of those people who have to listen to criticism in order to get better. Negative criticism is always the best criticism.
